Could if the radio you have now is a cheaper unit or has a antenna problem. The noise is usually caused by a CB that has a lot of modulation. If the SWR with the CB is high it can cause feedback in the stereo more often. Have also seen dual antennas cause the problem. These 2 reasons are the most common. There are others but check this first. Turning down the mod or listen to a FM station that the stero picks up well or play CB might
