When the radio is described as sirius ready, what does that entail. Do i just need my subscription or do I need an auxillary tuner, and if I need a tuner, do you sell them?

When a tuner is Sat Ready it means it has the ability to operate with its seperate tuner for Sat operation.  Each brand manufacture offers a specific tuner for this purpose.  The  model being sold by us and others is the SXV300V1.  We sell this model which our radios have a special port or plug on the back of the unt for this tuner.  The SXV300V1 is smaller than a pack of cigaretts and can usually be tucked away behind the radio.  Once plugged into the Sat Ready Radio in all essence it is just like it is built into the radio.  This has proven to be the way of choice from the big manufactures instead of built-in tuners.  Heat can be a issue with built-in tuners.  If you have a subscription with a older one you are paying for the new tuner has a NUMBER ID that can be activated by the Sat compnay to continue your   Read more...
