I've heard of CANBUS issues and error messages with aftermarket radios. Have you heard of any issues? Any workarounds like direct 12v-constant connection outside of the harness?

Can-Bus is a issue with some trucks.  Not all have a canbus system.  More trucks are not canbus than are.  If you are getting ready to install a new radio in a truck and are worried that yours is then contact your service center and ask if your truck is canbus.  
  If you discover this issue after you have installed a radio the only work around would be to wire the power wires both ing. and bat wires to another power source that the computer does not monitor.  To my knowledge ther is no way to tell if your truck is canbus or not without asking your
