You must have a misconception about wattage on speakers.  The listed wattage indicates how much input or power the speaker can handle.  You need to determine the distortion in that number so you don't damage the voice coil.  A 50-watt speaker will not play any louder than a 20-watt speaker when using a 10-watt   Read more...

There is a need to address the question about Smart Nav and Smart Nav Plus.  The easiest way to determine whether you have the plus is to look for your AM/FM antenna connector.  If you have a standard Motorola-style antenna connection, you will use the connector BT ISO DIN.  This connection is found further down in the wiring.  Follow the wires from the old connector about 6-8inches down, and you should see two 8-pin connectors.  This is where our BT ISO DIN will plug in.  If you don't have a Motorola-style connector for your antenna, you have the 1st version of SmartNav and use the SmartNav + Ant Adpt or the SmartNav + Ant Adpt. Use the BT ISO DIN for the radio.  Don't have one for the speakers.  If you don't want to cut the factory plug off the wire a pigtail for the speakers, use a T-Tap connector to wire on the new speaker   Read more...
we installed a Pioneer radio in my 2021 KW T270 and everything works fine until you thru light on and then the radio shuts off. you turn lights off then the radio comes back on. what do I have hooked up wrong? thanks for the help

A easy mistake is sometime a installer will determine that a wire is a ground wire when it is normally test to ground with a tester.  That same wire once the headlights are turned on will now have 12 volts on it.  It is actually a illimunition wire.  Take the ground wire loose and ground the radio to metal ground and recheck.  Hope this   Read more...
